House Leonthas

House Leonthas is a company of individuals who study and recreate the middle ages of Europe in the time period of 1180-1410 A.D. The aim of the Company is to study and research this time period and attempt to recreate the arts, professions, and everyday living of a member of the knightly class, or their retainers, and the professional soldiers in western Europe during the Hundred Years War and the Third Crusade. Within the Company, there are several skilled artisans ranging from calligraphers, shoemakers, and woodworkers, to armorers and professional soldiers. It is the Company's goal to learn about the medieval era with the attitude of learning by doing. It is also important to the companions to share the knowledge and research of the Company with other students and recreationists of the middle ages. The majority of the Company's activities are done in the SCA, or Society for Creative Anachronism, a world-wide medieval recreation organisation.
